Radiesse® uses a unique mechanism to reduce wrinkles and rejuvenate the hands. John R. Barbour, MD, FACS, offers Radiesse® for men and women in the Washington, DC area, including Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria and surrounding communities in Virginia.
What is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is a type of dermal filler that works by stimulating collagen production. The gel contains very tiny spheres of calcium hydroxylapatite. The spheres may provide an immediate lift to the skin and stimulate natural collagen production over time. The gel and spheres are absorbed by the body, leaving behind the new collagen.
Dr. Barbour may recommend Radiesse® to treat marionette lines, wrinkles on the chin, smile lines and other types of lines and wrinkles. Radiesse® is also used to rejuvenate the hands.
What are the Benefits of Radiesse® Treatments?
- Stimulates natural collagen production
- No downtime
- Minimally-invasive
- Long-lasting results
- Short treatment time
What Should I Expect from a Radiesse® Treatment?
The gel is administered with a small needle, and several injections are made along the wrinkle. The gel provides a small amount of lift in the skin, so your wrinkles may look less prominent. Over time, the microspheres stimulate the production of collagen to gradually fill in the wrinkles.
When Radiesse® is used for hand rejuvenation, you may notice that the skin looks smoother and not as thin. The veins in your hands may also be less visible.
How Long Do the Results Last?
How long the results last after your Radiesse® procedure depends on how much correction is needed, how much collagen your body produces, and how quickly your body absorbs the gel and microspheres. Some patients enjoy the benefits of Radiesse® treatments for 12 months or longer.
How Much Do Radiesse® Treatments Cost?
We use individualized treatment plans as the foundation of our pricing for Radiesse® procedures. After you meet with Dr. Barbour for a consultation, we discuss the cost of your treatments and our financing options.
