Sculptra® is a dermal filler recommended by triple board-certified plastic surgeon, John R. Barbour, MD, FACS. Men and women in the Washington, DC area, including Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria and surrounding communities in Virginia, may want to consider Sculptra® for the treatment of wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® contains poly-L-lactic acid that may help to stimulate the development of collagen in the skin. Increasing collagen levels may help with wrinkles on the chin, nasolabial folds and marionette lines. People who prefer gradual anti-aging improvements often choose Sculptra® as their dermal filler.
What are the Benefits of Sculptra® Treatments?
- Minimally-invasive
- No downtime
- May increase collagen levels to gradually fill in wrinkles
- Treatment takes less than 30 minutes
What Should I Expect from a Sculptra® Treatment?
Sculptra® is a gel formulation injected into the layers of skin using a fine needle. Multiple injections are made within the wrinkle to produce an even, consistent and natural result. You may notice some improvement in the wrinkle due to the thickness of the gel. Full results happen gradually.
The process of injecting the gel into the skin may cause some localized symptoms, such as bleeding, swelling, tenderness and bruising, for the first few days.
How Long Do the Results Last?
Dr. Barbour may recommend a series of Sculptra® treatments, such as three sessions over a three to four-month period. After the series of treatment, the results may last for up to two years, although this does vary by patient.
How Much Do Sculptra® Treatments Cost?
The cost of treatment with Sculptra® is based upon an individual treatment plan you develop with Dr. Barbour during the consultation. After the appointment, we provide pricing and explain our financing options.
